Biography - Dr. K. K. Jajodia, the Group Chairman

Dr. Jajodia was born on October 2, 1933. He studied BA Honors Degree in Economics, University of Bombay, where he ranked First in College and Second in University. He is married to Anjali Devi, has one son Aditya and two daughters Nisha Kanoi & Shalini Jalan - all married.

Dr. K. K. Jajodia is Group Chairman of the Duncan Macneill Group, London / New Delhi / Calcutta and Bombay. Among other activities, Duncan Macneill Group is engaged in tea plantation, package tea, tea branding, financial services, e-commerce, and exploration and production of oil and natural gas. Duncan Macneill Group companies eFirst Technologies LTD and eFirst Solution LTD have successfully launched firstandsecond.com, and e-commerce site in India. eFirst Technologies are also co-partners of Hiperworld, a well-established technology company in the B2B field in India.

Dr. Jajodia is also Chairman of Assam Company Ltd., the flagship company of Duncan Macneill Group. Assam Company Ltd. was established on February 12, 1839 by a Deed of British Parliament and was the first tea plantation company in the world. Queen Victoria awarded a Royal Charter the company in 1845. Prince Dwarkanath Tagore, grandfather of Rabindranath Tagore the Nobel Laureate, and Motilal Seal were amongst its Founder Directors.

Philanthropic, Charitable and Cultural Activities

  • Dr. Jajodia's foundation acquired the only Bronze head of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, sculptured during Nehru's lifetime by Ms. Fedda Brilliant, and donated it to Trinity College, Cambridge.
  • Dr.. Jajodia's Trusts have made valuable contributions for the renovation of Temples and Ancient Cultural Centers in India.
  • Duncan Macneill Group has donated two Fellowship Programs to the Institute of Southeast Asia Studies, Singapore. This was launched in the presence of H. E. Mr. Gob Chock Tong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore on the January 5, 1995.
  • Dr. Jajodia has donated the "Nehru Scholarship" in the perpetuity to Trinity College, Cambridge.
  • Dr. Jajodia has supported the World Wildlife Fund for Nature-India through donations.
  • Dr. Jajodia is a life member of The 1001: A Nature Trust of the Wildlife Fund (founded by HRH Prince Bernard; President HRH The Duke of Edinburgh).
  • A guardian of the WWF-UK (President- HRH Princess Alexandra).
  • Patron- World Life Preservation Society of India.
  • Life Member- World Wide Fund, India
  • Major supporter for the protection of Rhinos in Assam.
  • President- International Goodwill Society of India, New Delhi (Founded by Justice Dr. Nagendra Singh, Past President of the International Court of Justice, The Hague).
